Mr. Steele is a 1976 graduate of Tulane University, and has over 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He held various Land management positions at Shell Oil Company and its subsidiaries from 1979 to 1996. During this time, he worked numerous regions, including East and South Texas, the Gulf Coast (onshore and State waters), OCS waters, the Rocky Mountain region, the Cahaba Basin in Alabama, and the Bakken Shale play in North Dakota. In 1996, Mr. Steele joined Meridian Resource, where he supervised over 45 exploration and exploitation areas, and managed most of the Seismic/Lease Option acquisitions pertaining to Meridian’s 3-D seismic surveys in South Louisiana. In 1999, Mr. Steele served as Land Manager with LLOG Exploration, and subsequently established and managed Petsec Energy’s new Houston offices in 2007. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Land for W&T Offshore, Inc., where he managed all of its activities in the Gulf of Mexico, South Louisiana and Texas. Mr. Steele is a Certified Professional Landman, and a member of AAPL, HAPL, PLANO and the Houston Producers Forum.
